 1.   HWTE Scalability & Productization Engineer (Intern)

Sensors are key components of any smart devices and are used across all Apple product lines. The integration of those into the system allows a dynamic knowledge of the environment change and a better interaction with the user.

 

Sensors require precise calibration & test for accurate response of our devices. However, given the ever-increasing number of projects, it’s not sustainable to grow our DRIs at the same rate. Scalability & Productization group focuses on deep diving and optimizing our test solutions, with the vision to enable the highest test quality with minimum resource consumption.

 

Our team is looking for an Intern who will be involved in our productization efforts, including technical development and program management, and working with both the US and China teams.

 

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

SW - Develop, optimize and debug software in C/C++/Objective-C 

HW – Design, test and validate new instrument boards

Statistics - Analyze large amount of data, find potential problems, write report 

 

Qualifications:

          BS in EE or CS, MS preferred

          Good SW skills in C/C++/Objective-C

          Strong analytical skills

          Good English and communication skills

          Knowledge on digital circuit, ideally hands on experience with DMM/oscilloscope

          Fast learner and self-motivated

          Organized person, comfortable working in fast paced environment

          Optical knowledge highly appreciated

 

2.   Software Engineer (CoreOS, Shanghai)

Description

Apple's CoreOS organisation is looking for an exceptional engineer to support and develop tools. For this position you need to work with multiple software teams to make sure all the software (BIOS, FWs, Mac OS X, diags, tools, etc.) in Macintosh system (Macbook Pro/Air, iMac, Mac mini, etc.) works well in all of the developing phases, including live debug in line, working with all software related teams to root cause and fix issues, and developing debug tools and new software functionality.

Requirements

          Have relevant work experience in PC industry (notebook, desktop, server platform or embedded system)

          Have development and debugging experience on at least one platform

          Have development or debugging experience in EFI BIOS/Linux Kernel developing/EC FWs/Solaris or other UNIX/Windows/Mac OS X.

          Self-motivated and willing to take on responsibility, passion for work is very important

          Good at communication in English and Mandarin

          Excellent team player

          Willing to travel and work in factory

 

3.   Field Design Engineering Intern (Beijing, Shanghai)

Description

The candidate should have EE/CE major. The candidate will involve into field test project including cellular test and Apple Pay test over iPhones, iPads and iWatch, and more for different wireless tech- nologies.

Requirements

Required Experience/Skills:

          EE/CE MS required

          Background on mobile communication knowledge/experience preferred.

          Coding skill by one of popular program language

          Solid planning and communication skills.

          Abilities to work in cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.

          Fluent speaking English skill

 

4.   Wireless Design Innovator Intern

Description

          The candidate will be involved into a creative activity for wireless products.

          The candidate will work together with a team of highly skilled project manager, innovators, design engineers, Manufacture and 3rd part testing lab.

          The candidate needs to have an original mind and a great drive to create new ideas, diversity and delivery.

Requirements

          BS degree EE/CE required, MS desired

          Self-proclaimed Geek in EE/CE

          Database knowledge. Know or experience for database code. Know MySQL or SQL server.

          Webpage coding experience. Know JSP, Javascript, PHP.

          Webpage design. Good to know CSS, HTML

          Basic knowledge on RF test instrument for Wifi/BT/Cellular;

          MS degree EE/CE required, Master Degree desired also

          Solid planning and communication skills.

5.   Wireless Design Automation Software Engineer Intern, Shanghai  

Description

Apple is currently seeking enthusiastic EE/CE major interns who can start work in December, 2017 to Summer, 2018. The candidate will develop and optimize RF automation systems used on Apple’s products including iPhones,Macs, iPads and more for different wireless technologies.

The responsibilities for this position may include:

          Help to add new features to the RF automation test systems

          Help to develop new software tools to help the wireless issue debug

          Help to develop script for the RF logs processing and data presentation.

 

Requirements

          Pursuing a BS, MS, or Ph.D. in EE/CE or related fields.

          ExcellentfundamentalsandrelevantworkexperienceprogramminginoneormoreofC,C++,Ob- jective-C,

          Working knowledge of Python or Perl is big plus

          Basic knowledge of RF lab equipment including: spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, power sensors, switch controllers, combiners, etc.

6.   WDPPM Intern, Shanghai

Description

Apple is currently seeking enthusiastic EE/CE major interns who can start work in 2017 to Summer, 2018. The candidate will manage Wireless Test Design progress/maturity and optimize production process for NPI products.

The responsibilities for this position may include:

          Help to coordinate Wireless production issue reporting and track solution

          Help to propose and monitor Wireless production process optimization

          Help to support and secure Wireless Engineering activities in factory

 

Requirements

          Pursuing a MS. or above in EE/CE or related fields.

          Excellent communication skill and Program Management skill.

          Excellent fundamentals and relevant work experience RF Design/Testing, OTA Design/Testing.

          Working knowledge of Production Process is plus

          Basic knowledge of RF equipment including: spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, power sensors, switch controllers, combiners, etc.

7.   Embedded Firmware Intern (Shanghai)

Description

You will be working on an in-house system software platform written in Python and ObjectiveC. This software spans the whole software stack from user interface to low level device drivers. The devel- opment environment will be mainly macOS and partly embedded Linux. This is a test-driven devel- opment environment so be prepared to write a lot of unit tests. The software has an Service Orient- ed Architecture. Different components are loosely tied together with RPC over ZeroMQ. The candi- date will have the challenge to contribute code to a truly user friendly and highly reliable software platform, which is being used in our factories to ship millions of Apple products per month.

Requirements

          MS EE or CS

          Experienced in embedded firmware development on ARM Cortex SOC. Preferably Zynq.

          Embedded Linux system bring up

          Demonstrated proficiency in at least one programming language. Preferably C.

          Adequate communication in English

          Fast learner

          Self-driven and passionate. Able to perform under tight schedule

Preferred • Experience in BSP/Bootloader/Linux device tree development • Scripting programming experience: Python, Ruby, MATLAB, etc • Familiar with source control system. Preferably Git. • UML and Design patterns • Electrical engineering and semiconductor concepts. Able to work closely with EEs.

Description

9. Embedded Software Engineer Intern, Shanghai

Description

The Diags Team works on products and technologies for Apple's embedded platforms: iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV and Apple Watch. We have a fast paced work environment, and are looking for talented people who like to learn new skills, and aren't afraid of big projects. As an intern, you will get to work full-time with our team on real projects that will help us grow. You have the opportunity to work in a cross-functional manner, gaining exposure to other teams within Apple as well.

What you will learn

          How to create abstract APIs

          Writing device drivers for new components

          Build systems, integration, and makefiles

          Working with test equipment to debug HW/SW interactions

          oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, et cetera.

10.In Region X-ray Computed Tomography Intern, Shanghai

Description

In this position, the intern will be responsible for administration of CT Labs in Apple and its contrac- tual manufacturing sites. The candidate will be expected to learn the fundamentals of X-ray com- puted tomography and failure analysis. This is an internship with a 12-month timescale and an ex- pected deliverable of a complete training program.

Duties and Responsibilities: • In this position you need to understand the entire process of CT Scanning and Failure Analysis • Implement CT SOPs to CT Labs • Work with CT equipment vendors to make sure the CT machines work at perfect condition. • Support the CT scanning activity during peak time, possible OT work on weekend. • 3 days per week working at Apple Lab or its CM CT Labs.

Requirements

          Undergraduate or graduate student majoring in material science, nondestructive testing, or image process.

          Good understanding of the digital imaging, network and PC hardware.

          English CET 6. Personal Skill Set:

          Strong interpersonal skills (required to establish and maintain close relationship with deferent lev-els from vendors and Apple)

          Strong attention to detail and perfection.

          Ability to lead a project in an unattended manner

          Flexibility and adaptability to accept new tasks.

 

11.In Region Reliability Intern, Shanghai

In this position, the intern will be responsible for administration of Lab. in Apple’s contractual manu- facturing sites. The candidate will be expected to learn the fundamentals of Reliability test method (including set up of test equipment, test design, test data collection, and analysis reporting. The candidate need to support research of Reliability Engineers by conducting experiments and solving interesting technical challenges across all of Apple’s products and modules. This is an internship with a 6 -12 month timescale (can be negotiated) and an expected deliverable of a complete train- ing program.

Description

          In this position you need to understand the entire process of reliability. test setup and Failure Analysis

          Development of new reliability tests SOP (standard of process) and report format

          Work with CM sites lab. Team to make sure the correct test setup and accurate data reporting

          Support Reliability Engineer to perform Statistical data analysis for risk assessments

          Min. 3 days per week working at Apple Lab or its CM Labs (possible OT work on weekend)

 

Key Qualifications

          Graduate student of majoring in Material science, Mechanical, or Electrical process (Familiar with Failure Analysis is preferred)

          Good knowledge on data analysis and database management system

          English CET 6.

 

Personal Skill Set

          Collaborate with other team members as well as work independently(required to establish and maintain close relationship with deferent levels from vendors and Apple)

          Excellent written and verbal communication skill

          Passion to provide accurate data with attention to detail.

          Ability to complete assigned work requests and manage multiple deadlines.

 

12. Mac Hardware System Design Engineer Intern (Shanghai) 

Description 

Our Mac hardware system design engineer team is responsible for delivering the best computers to the end users. In this team, you will be working as an intern with the best engineers in the world. You will be encouraged to do something different and unique, to explore the far reaches of the possible, to be part of the team which always changes the world. 

We are currently seeking enthusiastic EE major interns who can start work in 2018. The interns will support electrical & system design and integration of the Mac computers. The candidate will be as- signed tasks that support the design, integration, implementation, testing, and qualification of various electrical sub-systems. Would prefer the candidate be self-motivated, a creative problem solver, a good communicator and motivator. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

•    Participate in design and development of next generation Mac products. 

•    Be the expert to help with EE related issues. 

•    Good ability for issue summary and reporting. 

•    Be able to manage vendor EE resources for better technical support. 

Requirements

•    Major in EE or equivalents, BS or MS 

•    Superior communication skills in both English and Chinese 

•    Strong analytic skills, self-initiatives and keen to learn and adopt new technologies and processes 

•    Demonstrated self-motivated and capable to work independently as well as within a diverse mul-ti-geographic team 

•    Tools: Cadence& Allegro, Matlab is a plus
